Dr. Rachna Gupta obtained degree in B.Sc (H) from Ramjas College, Delhi University in 1990 and earned degree in LLB from Campus Law Centre, Delhi University in 1993, thereafter acquired LLM degree from Kurukshetra University in the year 2005 and got conferred a Ph.D in Critical Study of Judicial Approach towards Environment Protection and Role of Substainable Development. Enrolled as an Advocate in September, 1993 and practiced across civil, criminal and constitutional matters in different courts of Delhi including Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. Joined Haryana State Judicial Services in the year 2000. While serving Haryana Judiciary, got appointed as first woman Registrar of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and served from 2013-2016. Thereafter, selected as Member (Judicial) of Customs, Excise & Service Tax Appellate Tribunal, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, on 04.05.2018. Dr Rachna Gupta assumed charge as Officiating President of CESTAT on June 08, 2026.
